Dr. Smucker Barnwell provides thought leadership, education, implementation guidance and regulatory input related to all policy and technological phases of the design and execution of telehealth systems.

Dr. Smucker Barnwell offers consultation to health care companies, hospital systems and individual providers regarding ethical technology use in practice. She is the former Director of the VA Puget Sound Telemental Health Care service. She has delivered thousands of hours of direct clinical service via diverse telealth technologies.

Dr. Smucker Barnwell delivers telehealth education through several national plaforms. She has served on a diversity of committees dedicated to the advancement of telehealth, including the American Psychological Association Telepsychology Taskforce, VA Puget Sound Health Care System Promoting Access to Telemental Health (PATH) service and the Washington State Psychological Association committee on telehealth. She delivers telehealth consultation to large-scale providers (e.g., hospital systems, corporations), start up companies, individual practitioners. She has delivered over 100 presentations on topics related to telehealth, and has published in the area of telehealth for the past ten years. References available upon request.
